My new prison home, Centralia, should be used as an example to run the other prisons by.
Staff are respectable toward the prisoners. If you ask a question they help you, and tell you the truth—something I have not experienced in a lot of years now. This place runs on the principle the prisoner receives what he has coming by law. Only an idiot would violate the rules and get his programs and privileges revoked.
Plenty of out-of-cell time and yard and gym. I can maintain my health by working out. The weights here help me to fight off the detrimental effects of hypothyroidism caused by the soy diet.
I really like the structure and way the administration runs this place.
This is a great place to rehabilitate my mind and body to become a useful citizen upon release.
More wardens need to spend a few days here observing the routine. For when you treat a man fairly, and do not punish him each day for the acts of another, or simply in retaliation for him being in prison, the prisoner will respect the authority and principles applied. I have not seen this in East Moline, Shawnee, or Danville. So it is a nice change.
It is nice to be at peace in the soul again.
